Volunteering
At Reachout.BG we believe that in order to overcome social isolation, abandoned children need not only professional help, but also mentoring and contact with people from different walks of life, who are willing to donate their time. This is why we draft volunteers for most of our initiatives.
Since its creation in 2008, Reachout has put the main emphasis of its activities on volunteers, who are the backbone of our team. Led by the understanding, that the children need the opportunity to meet different people we aim to attract volunteers who are willing to donate their time for prolonged periods of time, as well as some who are willing to be part of one-off projects. The permanent volunteers are all part of the education programme, and each focuses on working with a particular child.
As ROBG relies heavily on the efforts of our volunteers, we aim to provide constant support for their work. In order to facilitate this process, we have developed a process for admitting new volunteers which provides initial training. Subsequent to that, their direct work with the children is assisted in whatever way necessary.
